Mission: Our Mission is to educate Youth and High School Football Coaches on the safety of the game and proper technique and fundamentals.
About the LSCA: Over the course of nearly 40 years, Larry Smith coached at both the High School and Collegiate Level as a Position Coach, Coordinator and Head Coach. His passion for the game took him to Bowling Green, Lima Shawnee HS, Miami of Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, Tulane, Arizona again, USC and Missouri. After retiring from coaching in 2001, Larry moved back to Tucson, AZ and starting working with the Youth Leagues to help teach the youth coaches. His main focus was on Player Safety and kids learning Proper Technique. In 2004, He created the “Larry Smith Coaching Academy” and partnered up with the National Football Foundation and Tucson Youth Football. Before he passed away in January of 2008, Larry worked closely with the youth coaches in Tucson, averaging close to 700 coaches attending his yearly coaching academy. The Smith Family has decided that his legacy and passion for the youth players and coaches of America needs to continue. We are in the process of taking the LSCA nationwide in the next year and would love your support. Please look for updates to future dates and locations for the LSCA.
