Corbin Smith, the CEO of the Larry Smith Coaching Academy, is the son of Larry Smith.  He currently teaches Special Education at Mesquite High School in Gilbert, Arizona.  He is also the Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks and Linebackers Coach for the Wildcats.  His passion for teaching and coaching has led him back to working with the youth of America both in the classroom and on the field.

Corbin played strong safety and quarterback for Loyola High School in Los Angeles where he helped the Cubs to the Southern Section Division 1 title as a senior.  He then earned a scholarship to the University of Southern California where he was a back up quarterback and special teams player for two years.  In 1993, Corbin transferred to the University of Iowa and after two years of playing for Coach Hayden Fry and the Hawkeyes, he graduated in 1995 and joined Larry Smith’s staff at the University of Missouri.  From 1995-2000, Corbin was the Tight Ends coach and Special Teams Coordinator.  In 2001, Corbin was the Wide Receivers coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Arkansas State University.  After getting out of college coaching in 2002, Corbin went into sales until he made the jump back into coaching in 2012.

Corbin is a single father of 3 boys, Preston(15), Braxton(13) and Brody(11).  All three of his boys have played youth football with Braxton and Brody still being involved in youth football as Preston is now playing high school football.

Larry Smith’s vision for youth football was clear.  His passion for the sport allowed him to want to help the youth coaches gain knowledge in order to make the youth playing experience more enjoyable.  Safety was the key to this.  I am honored to continue what he started”
